Trouble Shooting a Shaker Dust Collector
Do bags shake when shaker operates? Yes / No
Are bags tensioned properly? Yes / No
Does isolation damper close or id fan stop during shaking? Yes / No
Is shaker cleaning interval at the shortest interval between compartments? Yes / No
Does the shaker operate at 30 seconds maximum? Yes / No
Check pins, keys, bearings, etc. Repair
Retention and check differential pressure.
Repair isolation damper or stop fan. Check differential pressure.
Shorten interval and check differential pressure.
Set cycle to 20-30 seconds
Did you pull a filter bag and run a permeability test to check for blinding? Yes
Is filter bag blinding? Yes / No
Analyze for cause of blinding and correct; Replace filters and check differential pressure.
Is air/cloth ratio less than 6:1 if pulse-jet, 4:1 if Plenum Pulse, or 3:1 if reverse air or shaker? Yes / No
Is material being continuously removed from hopper? Yes / No
Contact BPS for further recommendations.
If pulse-jet or plenum pulse, consider pleated media conversion. If reverse air or shaker, consider pulse-jet conversion or increasing collector size.
Remove material continuously and check differential pressure.
